The GODSFATHER, baybee
Character:
Deity Name: Zeus
Pantheon: Greek
Current Alias: Vincent Falcone
Apparent Age: 60
Occupation: Casino Owner // somewhat Mafia Boss
Personality: Zeus? ZEUS? Zeus is kind (sometimes), vindictive (at times), and lusty (always). He's kind of taken on the role of mafia boss/father to the city. People who need help know they can come to him. He requires their loyalty, which he accepts as worship. Those that cross him find horse heads in their beds find that horrible things can happen to those that reveal his secrets (See: Phineus and the Harpies). His buildings show a fondness for oak furnishings and the man himself constantly has olives about.
History: Zeus was the king of the gods, the god of sky and weather, law, order and fate. He was the son of Cronus and Rhea and she, rather than have her husband swallow yet another child whole, handed him a rock wrapped in cloth... which he swallowed. After he was grown, he made Cronus give back the stone first, then all of his siblings. With his brothers and sisters, Zeus overthrew the Titans and locked them in Tartarus. He, Poseidon and Hades split the world by drawing for it: Zeus got the sky and air, Hades the underworld and Poseidon the sea.
Because Zeus was SO worshiped, his myth was first taken to Norway (where he was identified with Thor) and then with the Vikings to the rest of the world. Now he lives on the East Coast (mostly), Atlantic City to be exact. He owns a Casino and with that comes all the women he can find, among other things.
PB: Marlon Brando
Sample Post: (in which Zeus finds out his COO is cheating on his wife)
Zeus sat in his office, looking out over the rest of the casino. While some things made him proud of his people, others most certainly did not.
After all, it was quite one thing to be unfaithful. Discretion was preferred, but not everyone was perfect. Except Zeus himself. Well, close enough. Either way, it was something else entirely to be spiteful and hurtful to one's wife in the name of love.
It's only okay to be spiteful and hurtful if you do it in the grand scheme of being only spiteful and hurtful. Otherwise, it's a low blow and a strike against the sanctity of marriage. And that brings in Zeus' own wife, which just won't do. If Hera shows up and causes problems, how is HE suppose to flit about?
The key to discretion is to keep one's wife occupied. You can't keep her occupied if your people are off being as rude as possible to their wives in the name of love.
Therefore, it was a rather cranky Vincent Falcone that pressed a button and called his Chief Operating Officer into the office.
